I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. And it was there, I found and married my wife and my first lady, (Kathy) thirty-five (35) years ago. While residing in Detroit. A city with more than 30 times our city's population of Brooklyn Park. While in Detroit my wife and I attended and graduated from the Detroit Public School system. After High School, we both went to college and we both decided to serve you, your family, and our country. So, I, joined the US Navy. And during my service, we married and were gifted and blessed by our most heavenly and most divine father to have raised three children, beautiful children, together. And have equally been gifted and blessed to have three equally beautiful grandkids, two sons-in-law and expecting, two new gifts and blessing (grands) arriving later this year in May and August 2021.
While serving you and your family and this country. I would receive the prestigious, US Navy Honorman Award. An award, rarely issued prestigious award that was presented to me for my outstanding accomplishments and for going over and beyond the call of duty to help and assist my fellow shipmates and others. I also, served as Religious Petty Officer, Captain of the Swim Team, Squad Leader, and Flag Carrier.
Also, while serving in the US Navy, my duties included troubleshooting and repairing the most highly technical and sensitive operating computer systems onboard the F-14 fighter jets and onboard the US Carrier - USS Ranger CV-61. After being Honorably Discharged. Kathy our family and I, returned back to our hometown of Detroit. And once arriving, I became actively involved in many phases of the City of Detroit government affairs, communities, and private endeavors. Where I’ve learned the inter-workings of a major US city along with fostering, promoting, and understanding the importance and value of community engagement and business operations. As former Chairman of the following City of Detroit Policy Council; Policy and Procedures Committee and Budget Committee.
Director of PAL-Police Athletic League Co-founder of 7th Precinct Adopt-A-Cop Mentorship program for at-risk youth. Executive Board member Master-at-Arms of the state of Michigan’s Headstart program. Advanced to starting, owning ad operating my own business ventures. All successful experiences, I must admit that success has accompanied those undertakings. All attributes Life Learned Lessons and Leadership skills, talents, and experiences that I will bring to you and the City of Brooklyn Park as "The People's Choice" and 13th Mayor of Brooklyn Park.
